While trying to check my Bank of America balance online earlier, I wasn’t able to access the site. I just assumed that this was a problem on my end and decided to take the dog for a long walk and then try again. We’ll after waiting an hour and still having no luck I decided to look into the issue a bit further only to find thousands of people complaining about it on Twitter.
Many customers have been having problems accessing the site all day, and there are growing fears that this may be due to a cyber attack. Bank of America has acknowledged the problem, and stated that their tech team is working on it. This isn’t the first time the BOA site has been down due to suspicious circumstances – which in a way makes this even more inexcusable.
Have you been able to access your BOA account online today?

I’ve been able to access today, but it takes a long time for the home page to load. Once inside, it’s easy to log in. It looks like a Denial of Service attack in which a large number of bots hit the portal page for log in. It could also be a brute force attack, but that wouldn’t be likely to succeed.
